UNDERSTANDING TUSCANY OF CASANOVA DI NERI
One producer, one type of wine, 3 different vintages: Brunello di Montalcino of Casanova di Neri, to understand with simplicity and fun how the climate and cultivation have influenced the same type of product vinified in 3 different vintages.
The Brunello di Montalcino is a red wine with Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin (DOCG) produced in Tuscany, in the territory of the municipality of Montalcino in the province of Siena.
The Brunello di Montalcino can be considered, together with Barolo, the Italian red wine with the longest life.
Brunello is the name given locally in Montalcino to what was believed to be a grape variety.
In 1879 the Ampelographic Commission of the Province of Siena determined, after several years of controlled experiments, that Sangiovese and Brunello were the same grape variety: in Montalcino the name Brunello was therefore transformed into the designation of the wine produced in purity from Sangiovese grapes.
The philosophy of the Cantina di Neri lies in the belief that a wine is the result of the vineyard and the work of man, careful and passionate work that must be aimed at understanding the characteristics of the soil, the microclimate and the grape variety to produce a unique wine, recognizable and capable of expressing the territory.
