Torrette Superieur 2010 Anselmet
Torrette Superieur 2010 is a red wine from Valle d'Aosta produced by Anselmet, the family-run company that has been producing extraordinary wines in the region for three generations. The Anselmet family have been pioneers in the rediscovery and valorisation of forgotten indigenous grape varieties such as Petit Rouge, Cornalin, Fumin, Mayolet and Muscat, while at the same time supporting the development of international varieties cultivated in the Valle d'Aosta style.
This wine is made from a blend of 70 % Petit Rouge, 25 % Fumin and 5 % Cornalin, from four plots in the communes of Saint Pierre, Villeneuve, Sarre and Charvensod. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 750 - 900 m above sea level, on sandy moraine soils. Ageing takes place in used barriques for a period of 12 months.
The Torrette Superieur 2010 from Anselmet expresses a dense ruby red colour with purple hues to the eye. The nose offers spicy aromas of small jammy bramble fruit, earthy notes and undergrowth. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, with strong notes of vanilla and incense, elegant and firm tannins and a spicy and fruity finish.
