Description

"Rosso della Contrada" 2017 Rabasco

The "Rosso della Contrada" by Rabasco is a wine that embodies the authentic essence of Abruzzo, produced from Montepulciano Abruzzese grapes cultivated with care and respect for tradition. The meticulous selection of grapes from the Cancelli district, sourced from 40-year-old vines trained in the tendone method, ensures the wine's qualitative excellence.

The extended maceration and aging in old wooden barrels give the wine a deep structure, characteristic of Montepulciano, yet balanced by a remarkable freshness that makes it extremely enjoyable to drink. Without the addition of sulfur at the beginning of spring, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in the bottle, thus authentically capturing the unique and distinctive characteristics of the Abruzzo terroir.

The Rabasco Agricultural Company, located in Pianella, in the province of Pescara, extends over 9 hectares of carefully cultivated land, producing 25,000 bottles of renowned Abruzzo wines annually. The vines, cultivated using the cordon spur method between 350 and 500 meters above sea level, are spread across four distinct vineyards - Cancelli, La Conchetta, San Desiderio, and La Salita - each with unique characteristics influenced by the variable microclimate and clayey, deep soils enriched with alluvial sediments and marine fossil remains.
