DOMAINE DE RAPATEL

Domaine De Rapatel is located in Languedoc Roussillon on the border with the Camargue, between Nimes and Arles. Here, Gérard Eyraud is noted for his naturally produced wines: great interpretations of a very special terroir with a great deal of mineral salts, where the grapes grow in sunny areas that allow them to ripen perfectly, whetted by the Maestral breeze.

Gerard Eyraud cultivates his vines using phytotherapy with organic and biodynamic practices. He is not interested in following fashions, he does not believe in appellations or oenological practices. "Rapatel is what I am, what I like to do and what I want to share with people and wine lovers."

Each plot is harvested and picked individually, fermentations are spontaneous and very long and take place in fibreglass tanks and cement vats. No wood, no sulphites and no hurry, nature must take its course... only when Gerard believes the time is right are the wines racked into fibreglass vats where they are left to age for three or four years and then bottled, either on their own or with the creation of the Cuvées.

In all the bottles produced by D. De Rapatel, one can capture Gerard's style, talent and sensitivity.
