Anjou Rouge "Les Mines" 2013 Domaine Andrée
Anjou Rouge 'Les Mines' is a red wine from the Loire Valley produced from Cabernet Franc grapes by Domaine Andrée, led by Stéphane Erissé. The Domaine, which is certified organic, works according to the philosophy of minimal intervention in the vineyard, where chemical products are banned. The Cabernet Franc grapes used for the production of 'Les Mines' come from vines with an average age of 45 years, cultivated on dark, almost black rock soil due to the high presence of carbon and graphite. This particular geology gives the wine a very special minerality.
Harvesting is carried out manually and the grapes are completely destemmed. After fermentation, the wine is left to mature in 30% new barrels for 24 months before bottling.
Domaine Andrée's Les Mines has an intense fruitiness and an aroma of sous bois, earth and sweet blackcurrants on the nose. In the mouth it is pungent, vibrant and fresh, with warm harmony, complexity and a beautiful finish. After a few years in the bottle, it is ideal for winter.
