Volnay 1er Cru "Clos de Ducs" 2020 Marquis d'Angerville
Marquis d'Angerville's Volnay 1er Cru Clos de Ducs 2020 is a fine red wine produced in the Burgundy region of France. This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Clos de Ducs vineyard, a very high quality production area located in the Côte de Beaune, known for producing extraordinary wines.
The cultivation philosophy of Marquis d'Angerville is based on producing wines that best express the terroir of the vineyard, i.e., the terroir in which the grapes are grown. For this reason, the cultivation of the vines is focused on reducing the yield per hectare in order to obtain grapes of the highest quality, with a great concentration of aromas and flavors. In addition, Marquis d'Angerville uses only organic and biodynamic farming methods, avoiding the use of pesticides and synthetic chemicals.
Vinification of Volnay 1er Cru Clos de Ducs 2020 involves fermentation of the grapes in oak barrels, followed by maturation in barrels for at least 18 months to allow the wine to develop complexity and elegance. This wine is not filtered before bottling in order to best preserve the organoleptic characteristics.
Volnay 1er Cru Clos de Ducs 2020 has an intense ruby red color, with violet hues. On the nose, this wine expresses aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and strawberries, accompanied by hints of spices, leather and oak. In the mouth, the Volnay 1er Cru Clos de Ducs 2020 is full and enveloping, with soft and silky tannins, balanced acidity and a long persistence. This wine has an excellent capacity for aging and can be best appreciated at least 5-10 years after harvest.
