TENUTA DI GHIZZANO

tenua ghizzano grandi bottiglieNatural wines by Tenuta di Ghizzano

Tenuta di Ghizzano is one of the oldest estates in the area: the structure is located in Ghizzano, a small Tuscan village situated on a hill halfway between Pisa and Livorno, where the climate is mitigated by the presence of sea breezes. The farm extends for about 350 hectares, of which only a part is cultivated with vineyards, while the rest is divided into olive trees, cereals and other agricultural products. The Venerosi Pesciolini family has guided the estate since its origins. In 1984 they created the first bottle of wine, the "Veneroso", and in 2003 they switched to natural organic farming, and then in 2006 they started to practice Biodynamic agriculture, which they received the certification in 2018. Careful and sustainable viticulture is at the base of the company's production philosophy: meticulous attention to the growth of healthy and high quality grapes, green pruning to lower yields, use of only copper and sulphur and careful and limited use of wood to maintain the original characteristics of the grapes, these are the secrets that make Tenuta di Ghizzano's wines so authentic: in addition to the already mentioned "Veneroso", other important labels in the range are "Nambrot", "il Ghizzano" and "San Germano" Passito.
