MONTEVERTINE
Montevertine is located in the municipality of Radda, on the Chianti hills, was purchased in 1967 by Sergio Manetti.
Initially the idea was to make the Montevertine estate the family's vacation home, planting some rows to produce wine for home and friends.
The first vintage produced, however, in 1971 was surprising and Sergio decided to send some bottles to Vinitaly, it was a great success so much that on the wave of enthusiasm he abandoned his industrial activity after a few years to devote himself solely to wine.
Sergio unfortunately passed away in 2000 and from that day the Montevertine estate was led by his son Martino, who continued his father's business while maintaining the values of tradition that have always been the flag of Montevertine.
The cultivated vineyards are exclusively the traditional varieties of the Chianti area: Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. Simplicity, respect and attention to every detail are the guide of every day, the vinification method is extremely traditional and has remained the same since the first vintages. The wines are never filtered and the bottling takes place by fall.
In the wines of Montevertine is enclosed the love for the Tuscan land and for its vineyards, the company over time has become a luminous interpreter of this extraordinary variety that is Sangiovese.
