DOMAINE DE TRIVEL
A young Domaine from Anjou
The story of Domaine de Trivel has its roots in Alsace, where young Sidonie, a descendant of a family of winemakers, began her studies in Viticulture and Enology in 2015, alternating study with practice at Domaine Emile Beyer. Her future at the helm of the family Domaine seems already written, but her plans change when the family decides to sell the estate and she meets Thomas, her fellow student.
Thomas, after spending years studying music, decided to change his life by moving on to something more practical; he went through various experiences toward agricultural professions to find his passion in vines and wine. He then embarked on his BTS in Rouffach and alternately worked at Domaine Josmeyer in Wintzenheim.
From this meeting the idea of creating their own Domaine was born very slowly, but in Alsace it is not easy to found a Domaine from scratch and their spirit of independence pushes them far away, as far as Anjou, an area that has always enchanted them with the characteristics of the wines produced. In 2019 they finally succeed in realizing their dream, and thus Domaine de Trivel was born on the banks of the Loire.
Domaine de Trivel covers 4.85 hectares planted with Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grolleau and Gamay, thanks to this mosaic of grape varieties and terroir, they are fortunate to be able to produce diverse and authentic wines. The vines are cultivated with the aim of allowing nature to give its best, intervention in the vineyard is minimal without the use of any kind of chemicals. In the winery, the approach is the same and each vintage is a story in itself: it is only on the basis of the grapes harvested that the stages of vinification and aging are determined.
