The vines for this wine are located in the southern part of the appellation, in the "Fangueiron" sector. This terroir is characterized by galets roulés (rounded pebbles) and stony alluvium, which contribute to the perfect ripening of the grapes. The average age of the vines is about 60 years, allowing for high-quality fruit with notable aromatic concentration.
The production of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge at Domaine du Bienheureux follows sustainable agriculture practices. The vineyard care is done manually, with mechanical soil tillage that preserves the health of the plants. Harvesting is done by hand, picking the clusters at optimal ripeness, avoiding overripeness to maintain the purity of the fruit.
Vinification is done with whole clusters, followed by a maceration of about twenty days. This process allows for the delicate extraction of tannins and aromas, resulting in a wine with a well-integrated tannic structure and natural freshness. The wine is aged in stainless steel vats for 12 months, a method that preserves the integrity and purity of the fruit, without the influence of wood.
