The Barolo Vigna Rionda Riserva 2013 by Oddero is a shining expression of one of Barolo’s greatest crus, Vigna Rionda, located in Serralunga d’Alba. This prestigious vineyard, planted in 1985, is prized for its calcareous marl and sandstone soils, with perfect southern exposure, allowing for full and slow Nebbiolo ripening.
The 2013 vintage is regarded as a classic, long-lived year, offering freshness, structure and aromatic precision. The wine undergoes extended maceration and ages for nearly 6 years in large Slavonian oak casks, developing profound aromatic complexity.
The nose is deep and layered, with dried violet, cherry, rose, leather, licorice, tar and mineral notes. The palate is structured and vertical, with polished tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savory finish. This is a meditative Barolo, built to age for decades.
