MoreLanglois-Chateau, located in the heart of the Loire Valley, is one of the most important estates for the production of traditional method Crémants de Loire, sparkling wines celebrated for their freshness, elegance, and vibrancy. The winery was founded in 1885 as Maison Delandes, and the current name, Langlois-Chateau, was adopted in 1912 following the acquisition by Edouard Langlois and Jeanne Chateau. A key moment in the estate’s growth came in 1973 when the Bollinger Group acquired the majority, enhancing the winery’s enological excellence and sparkling wine expertise.
The estate covers 95 hectares, mainly in Saumur and Saumur-Champigny, featuring clayey and chalky soils rich in tuffeau, while in Sancerre flint predominates. The vineyards are fully sustainably certified, with over 30 hectares organically farmed, ensuring respect for the land and authentic wines. Main grape varieties include Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Franc, complemented by smaller portions of Chardonnay, Melon de Bourgogne, Pinot Noir, and Grolleau, cultivated with modern and sustainable techniques.
The winery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, from sorting tables to pneumatic presses and temperature-controlled tanks, ensuring top-quality vinification. Grapes for Crémants come from the most suitable plots, vinified separately, then blended to achieve freshness, elegance, and finesse. In addition to sparkling wines, Langlois-Chateau produces elegant still whites, rosés, and reds, offering a true expression of the grape varieties and terroir of the Loire Valley.
