Poderi Mattioli : Visita e degustazione by Emanuele Spagnuolo 21/07/2018
On Saturday 21 st July Emanuele and Ilva of Grandbottiglie.com in the morning visited Poderi Mattioli, this young winegrower of Serra dei Conti, and they tasted vertically the two Verdicchi of the company: Ylice and Lauro
"The company works organically, in the winery the vinification is reasoned trying to preserve to the maximum those characteristics that make the terroir of origin unique. The two Verdicchio wines are really very good, both the Ylice, simpler, direct, true, both the Lauro, an almost intellectual verdicchio, deep, coming from a hectare with vines over 45 years of age, the prestigious Mogliette vineyard. The vineyards are placed at an altitude of 350 meters, mainly sandy soils that give these verdicchi a lot sapidity and elegance I was amazed by the energy and strength that the wines of these two brothers full of passion (Giordano and Giacomo) express in the glass and I really like the strong bond with the family tradition that is heard chatting in the company. The strong point of the company is also the will to always put in stock some old vintages so as to always have an important vintage for the tastings, as happened to us. my humble opinion at this time an absolute point of reference for those who want to get out of the usual standardized verdicts and not very intriguing to go to Marche small treasures able to grow old without fear as we saw from our verticals. Strongly recommended for lovers of true and exciting wines. "
