Taurasi 2009 Perillo
Taurasi 2009 is a red wine from Campania produced by Perillo. It is an important red wine, substantial and robust, which most represents the Campania region. It is obtained from 100% Aglianico grapes coming from very old vines, on soils at 500 metres above sea level rich in limestone, clay and sand. It matures in cask and barrique for 20 months and then in bottle for several more months. Deep garnet red in colour, it expresses a complex bouquet of red fruits and hints of undergrowth, together with spices and balsamic hints. On the palate it is rich and full-bodied, with a very present tannin (an intrinsic characteristic of the vine), but well blended. A very long sip for a wine to accompany structured and tasty meat dishes.
