The Loire is a French region known throughout the world for the character of its white wines and for the Cabernet Franc, the main protagonist of its reds.
This region is characterized by a climate that leads to the limit of the survival of the vine, this means that the amount of sugar in the grape is severely limited and the wines that result light and low alcohol.
WHAT IT CONTAINS:
La Porte Saint Jean Saumur Champigny Rouge 2014: natural vinification, the maceration of the grapes takes place in truncated cone wooden barrels without the use of sulfur.
Aging in small used barrels of origin in part from Clos Rougeard, in part from Haut Brion. No filtration or clarification, a small part of the sulphur dioxide is used during the bottling phase. Dark ruby red color with a nail that denotes a slight garnet. On the nose we find notes of ripe red fruits, spices and an elegant vegetal note that refreshes the olfactory picture. In the mouth the wine is consistent, as soon as it touches the palate there is a note of warmth, roundness, fruit and spices together in a gustatory framework of absolute refinement.
Guibertau Saumur Rouge 2014: Deep red by the glass, with crimson tendencies towards the nail.
The first nose refines a sweet note of ripe fruit and then opens to a deeper nose towards more detailed hints including black cherry, black olives, licorice and a smoky tear closes a bouquet of scents wide and varied.
Guibertau Les Quarterons St Nicolas De Bourgueil Rouge 2016: a terroir composed of gravel and sand on a hard clay subsoil for a sugary minerality.
The grapes are harvested by hand, is a cheerful wine, fresh, perfectly balanced in its minerality that releases a wide range of aromas of ripe red fruit.
A simple, delicate but well balanced and consistent wine, fresh despite its designation.
