DOMAINE DE MATHOUANS

The Domaine des Mathouans is located in a Latour-de-France in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. At the reins of the company found Aline Hock and her husband: always passionate about wine, she undertook wine studies, then, during an internship in Laguedon-Roussillon organized by her university, she was seduced by this French region so much to consider abandon his bank job to devote himself completely to the world of wine. So he moved to this region and in 2008 he acquired his 5 hectares of vines giving way to its production, with the first vintage 2009. Today the Domaine includes 12 hectares of vines of which 10 cultivated integrated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, to which they have joined since 2013. The land is plowed with a horse and the use of chemicals is prohibited in the vineyard, replaced with natural herbal compounds. The grapes are harvested manually and the same meticulous work continues in the cellar, where no chemical additives are added except for a small percentage of sulfur. The mainly cultivated vines are Syrah, Grenache Gris and Carignan Noir on clayey-calcareous soil, Macabeu on black marl, Grenache Noir, Lledoner Pelut and Muscat Petit Grain on gneiss and Carignan on granite soil. The Domaine Des Mathouans produces red, white and rosé Vin De France which are pure expression of their beloved land.
