CLAUDIO PLESSI

___

Not the usual Lambrusco! In fact ... Claudio Plessi is a remarkable and tireless witness of modenesis! Claudio Plessi is a man of few, very few words at the first meeting, a very calm person ... we need to give him that little time to let him talk. “We used to make wine with my father, I always worked in the cellar with him, I was a technical supervisor, growing up I was the only one of the brothers to have studied and being a little boy I entered the wooden barrels, at the time they were wooden like every tool used. We made sparkling red wine for sale, assembling more varieties, and wines for family or friends - pause - you know there was always someone passing by, they all came to taste our wines that we always vinified with purity varieties we were the only Tarbiànein that Trebbiano of Spain. ”Claudio is a man who, with his work tells the story of his land, the traditions and keeps alive a whole series of unique local indigenous varieties! Like so many of the Trebbiano Modenese, Lambrusco di Fiorano, Tosca Grapes, Caveriol, Il Trebbiano di Spagna, La Ruggine ...

Claudio was a teacher at the Agricultural School in Modena, and at the same time he managed an orchard and vineyard, until 2000 when he decided to devote himself to wine.

How not to emphasize its sensitivity towards sustainable production for the environment even at the expense of quantity, in fact still today it produces 5000 bottles of its 3.2 hectares in Castelnuovo. It is certified organic in 1992 or the year after the first organic law was issued by the then "European Community", the Reg. (EEC) No. 2092/91. A true forerunner of natural wine producers, or perhaps one of the few true witnesses to the gastronomic tradition that existed in the past, as he calls them "between the two wars".
