Domaine Christian Binner, precious wines from Alsazia

Domaine Christian Binner is a historic winery founded back in 1770 in Ammerschwihr, Alsace. Today the winery has 10 hectares of vineyards, where Christian cultivates different types of Alsatian vines and Cru according to biodynamic farming principles.

In the vineyard the yields are reduced to a minimum and the use of any chemical substance is banned; the harvest is exclusively manual and takes place only when the grapes are fully ripe. Vines such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Muscat and Gewürztraminer are processed with the utmost respect for the grapes and the environment. In the winery all wine making processes follow the same principles: slow pressing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and at low temperatures, aging in oak casks.

Besides wines, they also produce many types of brandies, in a very particular context among the most important ones in the wine scene of the area. Some years ago Christian started the Les Vins Pirouettes project, through which he offers his experience and knowledge to support the work of small biodynamic vignerons of the area and producing a line of collaborative wines.
