The 2005 Pinot Noir Canis Major Santa Maria Valley is a California red wine produced by Ambullneo Vineyards.
It is a Burgundy-style Pinot Noir, elegant but rich in extract, more in keeping with the California style. Ruby red in colour with garnet highlights, it expresses intense notes of red fruits such as ripe cherries and wild strawberries on the nose, which continue with spicy and earthy notes.
On the palate the taste is pure and clean, with medium body and alcohol and great freshness. On the retronasal, aromas of cherries, red plums, rhubarb and strawberry come out, which is reinforced by hints of black truffle, white pepper and a touch of cinnamon that extends to a long finish.
