Les Iles Feray 2019 Pierre Gonon

Les Iles Feray is a fine red wine from the Rhone Valley produced by Pierre Gonon. It is made from 100% Syrah from several younger vineyards on the lower slopes of Saint-Joseph, with some vineyards located outside the boundaries of the appellation (for this reason it cannot receive the Saint-Joseph appellation but is labelled as Vin de Pays de L'Ardèche). However, this does not denote a loss of quality. A testament to the skill of the Gonon brothers, it displays the same finesse and depth as their other cuvées, at a drastically reduced price. It expresses on the nose intense dark fruits, violet flowers, spices and some smoky notes, for a structured sip, with soft but persistent tannins. This wine is made entirely according to organic farming methods, mostly destemmed, unfiltered and intended to be drunk in the coming years.
