Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Combottes 2019 Georges Lignier
The 2019 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Combottes is a fine red wine from Burgundy produced by Domaine Georges Lignier. The Pinot Noir grapes come from the Les Combottes Vineyard, one of the 20 Premier Cru of the Gevrey Chambertin appellation.
Vinification is carried out with a short cold maceration of two to three weeks with daily pumping over, and ageing takes place in barrels, a third of which are new, if possible without racking, for a full 22 months. Each with its own individual style, the wines of Gevrey-Chambertin express the richness and diversity of the Burgundy terroir.
This 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Combottes is a rich red, with an intense nose of blackcurrants and other small red and dark fruits with nuances of game, with balsamic notes of liquorice. The palate is full but elegant, with tannins present but valluted and just the right amount of freshness.
