Description

Cornas Chaillot 2017 Thierry Allemand

Cornas Chaillots 2017 is a red wine from the Rhone Valley produced by Thierry Allemand. It is made from 100% Syrah grapes, the region's characteristic red grape variety, within the Cornas appellation, which together with Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Crozes-Hermitage and St-Joseph, represent the most important appellations where Syrah is the absolute protagonist. Intense ruby red to the eye, the nose offers hints of black and blue fruits accentuated by spices and minerals, liquorice, smoked meat and salty notes. The taste is balanced, structured and fresh at the same time, balanced tannins and long persistence.

THIERRY ALLEMAND

Allemand is credited with putting Cornas back on the industry's radar, as well as changing the regional style in general. Rather than the austere and overly tannic style that reigned before, Allemand has introduced a quality over quantity mentality, organic farming and a general perception of balance to the Rhone Valley. Passion, history and lots of flavour are packed into each of these epic bottles.
