PIERRE YVES COLIN MOREY

Pierre Yves Colin Grandi BottigliePierre Yves Colin, grandi vini di Borgogna

Pierre Yves Colin is a producer of Chassagne Montrachet, one of Burgundy's rising young stars. After working in the family Domaine Marc Colin where he gained a solid reputation for his exceptional white wines, he decided to create his own company in 2005 together with his wife Caroline Morey.

Thus was born the Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, a small estate of around 6 hectares that saw its first vintage in 2006, with the first vintages being made from vineyards and growers with whom he works closely, buying the wine as must and ageing the wines in barrels supplied by him. Today, the Domaine produces around 70,000 bottles, 2/3 of which are made from the estate's own grapes and 1/3 from purchased grapes, processed and vinified with care and according to sustainable principles to protect the environment.

The white wines are pressed from whole bunches, fermented with natural yeasts, aged on the lees for a maximum of 18 months, mostly in 350-litre barrels, without stirring the lees and without filtration. The corks used come from a small supplier and are extra long and extra wide (55mm x 25mm) for the village, 1er cru and grand cru wines and are untreated without paraffin and the bottles are then sealed with soft wax to ensure there are no premox problems. The resulting wines are made to age for a long time, up to 10 years or more.
