THE SCENTS OF CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY

Chambolle Musigny is a municipality famous for the important qualities of its wines deriving from one of the most extraordinary terroirs of Burgundy.

The name comes from the name "Cambola", which owes its root to the Gallic term "Cambo" which literally means "bend in a stream".

Etymologically speaking, therefore, Chambolle-Musigny is to indicate a fertile land that is located near a stream, which actually reflects reality as the municipality is located right at the mouth of a valley in a bend of a stream.

It is widely believed that the wines of Chambolle-Musigny, thanks to the particular terroir resulting from the geographical position of the municipality, are the most delicate and refined of all the Cote De Nuits and Cote De Beaune.

However, it is not necessary to fall into the error that they are fragile or feminine wines, excessively ruffian or sweetened in their qualities, because they are in reality particularly complex and structured wines.

These are vineyards that grow on a terroir marked by a large percentage of marl with a clear calcareous prevalence and clearly poor in magnesium.
Only a small part of the terroir is characterized by a clayey presence, mainly in the highest area of the climat Musigny.
