Chablis Vaucopin 1er Cru 2017 Droin

Chablis Vaucopin 1er Cru is a Burgundy white wine produced by Domaine Droin. The Chardonnay grapes come from a terroir whose minimal thickness of the soil allows a high acidity to develop. The nose is characterised by a great minerality, together with hints of citrus fruits and white and yellow fruit. The Chablis Vaucopin Grand Cru expresses some hardness in its youth, but it has great ageing potential, which it will express at its best in 10 years.

VINIFICATION: pneumatic pressing, fermentation with indigenous yeasts partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in barriques, malolactic fermentation then blending after 8-10 months. Ageing if necessary, light filtration and bottling.

The Domaine Jean Paul & Benoît Droin has been located in Chablis, in the northernmost part of Burgundy, for more than 500 years. The Domaine's 25 hectares are now managed by Jean Paul Droin, son of Benoît who left him at the helm in 1999. The Domaine produces almost all the denominations of Chablis wines, from Petit Chablis to Chablis Grand Cru. These are wines with an outstanding quality/price ratio.
