Natural Wines, Byodinamic Wines, Organic Wines

The Natural Wines are part of a selection of green wines whose demand on the market has grown enormously in recent years thanks to an increasing attention on the part of the consumers, in the search for wines produced without the addition of chemical additives.

Natural wines , together with biodynamic wines and wines biological , are the 3 macro categories of green wines that differ from the others as they are regulated by European Regulation 203/2012 which determines the use of specific < strong> oenological products and authorized processes to be branded and distributed as wines free of chemicals usually used to correct wine maturation.

Among the most important and renowned distributors of natural wines , biodynamic wines or vi biologicals we find Triple "A" or Farmers, Craftsmen and Artists , whose manifesto fights the standardization of wine production.

Standardization mortifies the imprint of the vine, the incidence of the territory and the personality of the producer and is a cause of wines that are always similar, flattened in organoleptic and incapable characteristics to challenge aging over time due to the chemistry used.

Natural Wines

Natural Wines are made without adding any chemicals , manipulations or additions by man starting from the cultivation of grapes until bottling.
The vines, all with low yields, are treated exclusively with natural products and in very low quantities, such as sulfur and copper.
fermentation and aging occurs through the use of indigenous yeasts , naturally present in grapes, avoiding the use of selected yeasts.
Sulphites are generally not added to those that develop naturally from the fermentation of grapes but, in the case of particularly deficient years, the Regulations grant a minimum use which includes 30 mg / l for red and rosé wines and 50 mg / l for white wines (1/4 of the limit set for law).

Biodynamic wines

The Biodynamic wines are not regulated by legislation but by the Demeter association.
The production processes of biodynamic wine , in addition to reducing the use of chemicals and machinery, it is based on respect for the natural course, the moon phases, its resources and the use of biodynamic preparations (strictly natural compost) at certain stages of the year.
Biodynamic agriculture will result in naturally healthy, high-quality vine plants capable of defending themselves from pests.
Even for biodynamic wines sulfines are not zeroed but limited to 70 mg / l for red and rosé and 90 mg / l for white wines.

Organic Wines

The organic wines can bear the BIO mark only if they respect the rules of the European Regulation 203/2012:

- they exclusively use grapes grown with organic farming methods, therefore without synthetic chemicals and GMOs

- the vinification is carried out only oenological products and processes authorized by the European Standard 203/20012, without chemical substances for          correcting the wine.

- sulphites must strictly fall within the limits allowed by the Regulation ie 100 mg / l for red and rosé and 150 mg / l for whites.
