Bartolo Mascarello is a legendary name for Barolo and Langhe, a small producer who made the history of the denomination.
Today the winery is guided by the daughter, as it once was, a single label of a barolo that, as tradition dictates, is joined more in a single bottle.

The philosophy with which Barolo by Bartolo Mascarello is produced has remained unchanged over the years and is firmly and rigorously based on safeguarding the ancient traditions of the territory.

The Bartolo Mascarello winery was founded in 1918 when Giulio, back from the First World War, returned to the town of Barolo and decided to go it alone, abandoning the Social Winery. His flair and his competence push him to buy, with abundant sacrifices, small portions of vineyards, located in a particularly suitable area: in the Cannubi, in San Lorenzo and in Ruè. In the sixties, Bartolo, a former partisan and mayor of Barolo, enters the winery, who, with his personality, gives a decisive turning point in production. A point an autonomous, original and traditionalist style, without indulging in French fashion and separate vinification by vineyard, remaining, as he liked to call himself, "traditionalist in wine and progressive in politics".

Today the family property consists of 5 hectares of vineyards, 3 of which are dedicated to Nebbiolo and from which slightly less than 15 thousand bottles are obtained, disputed by enthusiasts from all over the world.

The wine of Bartolo Mascarello stands as a great timeless classic of the Langhe: a label that entered the history of Italian oenology.

Mythological and obstinately against the fashions of the moment, Bartolo Mascarello's Barolo has passed into history as the wine of intellectuals, from critical considerations, loved by enthusiasts, experts and critics but also by high-profile intellectuals such as Norberto Bobbio, Mario Rigoni Stern, Nuto Revelli, Giulio Einaudi and, finally, Carlo Petrini. Extraordinary, powerful and velvety, the Barolo by Bartolo Mascarello is a monument of the Langhe, a bottle that enchants the historical memory of the territory.
