Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is a legendary estate, and while the wines are getting tremendous acclaim throughout the world there are one or actually several relatively unknown vineyards and a rather overlooked wine in the portfolio.

It is well known that Domaine de la Romanée-Conti produces an outstanding Montrachet, and even that they produce an equally excellent Batard-Montrachet, that is not sold commercially – but served at the estate and events.

But actually there is a third white produced by DRC – a Bourgogne Blanc from Hautes Côtes de Nuits – more precisely from the hill Curtil-Vergy where Aubert de Villaine and the Association l’abbaye de Saint-Vivant are restoring the Abbaye de Saint-Vivant de Vergy.

l’Abbaye de Saint-Vivant is located above Curtil-Vergy as small village west of the Vosne-Romanée appellation – see map below. Walking distance from Curtil-Vergy to Vosne-Romanée is 9.6 km, taking the route used by the monks of the Abbaye de Saint-Vivant.

The Chardonnay vineyard is vinified by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti for Aubert de Villaine and the Association l’abbaye de Saint-Vivant.
