BUISSON CHARLES

Patrick essa

The Domaine Buisson-Charles is a small town in the municipality of Meursault in Burgundy.

The company was born in the 60s from the union of the two families, and their properties, Buisson and Charles and was initially run by Michel Buisson.

From the very beginning Michel has focused on wines that fully reflect the commune where the Domaine Buisson-Charles, Meursault, was born, giving birth to classic and rigorous Burgundy wines with great ageing capacity.

Today the Domaine Buisson-Charles is run by Michel's daughter Catherine and son-in-law Patrick Essa (an esteemed taster throughout the Cote d'Or).

Patrick's Burgundy wines, thanks to his great skills and talent, have gained in the fierce panorama of Meursault's white wines, material concentration and aromatic definition, but also lightness and, above all, determining a crystalline purity, which highlights the territorial character like few others.

The vineyard park at Domaine Buisson-Charles' disposal covers about 6 hectares and boasts the oldest vines over 90 years old, while the average age of the vines is around 60 years.

As far as the winemaking style is concerned, the percentage of new wood is between twenty and thirty percent and bottling takes place after about fourteen months.
