Barolo Dagromis 2016 Gaja
Barolo Dagromis 2016 is a fine wine from Piedmont produced by the prestigious Gaja winery. It is an important red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes from vineyards in La Morra, purchased in 1995 by the Gromis family, from whom it takes its name.
All the vinification phases respect the winery's tradition, according to which the fermentation, maceration and ageing processes must be carried out separately for the grapes that come from different vineyards. Thus an initial refinement involves 12 months in barriques, then the wine is blended and aged for a further 18 months in wooden barrels, for a total of 30 months.
Gaja's 2016 Barolo Dagromis shows a ruby colour with garnet highlights. The bouquet is broad and intense with hints of flowers, Mediterranean scrub and then small red fruits and spices such as liquorice and herbs. The taste is elegant and powerful at the same time, balanced and with velvety tannins, for a very long finish.
