Description

Barolo Bussia "Cicala" 2001 Magnum Aldo Conterno

Barolo Bussia "Cicala" Magnum 2001 by Aldo Conterno is a fine wine from Piedmont endowed with great structure, energy and power, it is a traditional Barolo, vinified according to a traditional interpretation. Grapes come from a legendary Cru: the Cicala vineyard within the Bussia Cru, in the Langhe region of Piedmont.

We are in front of a classic Barolo, obtained by a traditional vinification with a long maceration of the must on the skins and a long aging of 28 months in large barrels, the grapes come from plants with more than 50 years on the shoulders.

In the glass, Aldo Conterno's Barolo Bussia "Cicala" 2001 Magnum shows a beautiful garnet red color with orange reflections, typical of Nebbiolo with years of age, to the nose is intense and complex with ripe berries, dried violets, licorice and many spices. In the mouth it is complex, with tannins softened by the years but not for this reason powerful.

It is a fine wine, persuasive and with a very long persistence, the years spent in bottle made it mature until it became a magnificent expression of Barolo.
