Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva 2007 Producers of the Barbaresco
Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva 2007 is a fine Piedmont wine from the Produttori del Barbaresco company. The historic company was born in the municipality of Barbaresco from the desire to create a different Nebbiolo-based wine, which will be given the name of the town: Barbaresco. The grapes come from the Montestefano Cru, in the north-eastern part of the Denomination, from which a complex Barbaresco is produced, which almost resembles a Barolo. The manual harvest is brought forward a few days compared to that of Barolo, after which the must is fermented in steel at a controlled temperature of 28 ° -30 ° C for 15-24 days and then begins aging in wood for at least 36 months, resting then in bottle for 6 months at least before being put on sale. Barbaresco "Montestefano" is a wine suitable for aging, less austere than Barolo, more drinkable, but still full and complex. When young it shows fruity characters, which evolve over the years towards aromas of jam, dried flowers, spices and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is full and elegant, balanced and very long.
