Amarone della Valpolicella Il Bosco 2013 Cesari
Amarone della Valpolicella is one of the best Italian wines for ageing, and this bottle is an expression of its great value and quality. The Cesari winery produces this Veneto red wine from perfectly healthy grapes from the best vintages. The Corvina and partly Rondinella grapes come from the single vineyard 'il Bosco' from vines about 18 years old.
Fermentation takes place with maceration in contact with the skins for 20-30 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 24 months in French oak barriques and in large Slovenian oak casks before being bottled.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico il Bosco di Cesari is characterised by an intense ruby red colour with purple highlights. The nose expresses hints of cherry, spices, cocoa and bitter almonds. The sip is warm and velvety, full-bodied and elegant. This wine is ideal to be enjoyed with red meats, game and mature cheeses, but also very enjoyable as a meditation wine.
